Had PC problems and have been very, very busy with my ceramic classes. Having a great time though I am grateful for the interlude of Spring break this next week! Especially since my husband and I plan a short trip to Mount Tamalpais and the beaches near there, which I love. I hope things are going well with you.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03968836522039192847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4101338649526821749.post-83110942854236917112015-03-16T17:33:25.721-07:002015-03-16T17:33:25.721-07:00Yes, Alice gets around ;) I keep hearing Grace Sl...Yes, Alice gets around ;) I keep hearing Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane singing...go ask Alice...Charlene Doiron Reinharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06645689953689581574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4101338649526821749.post-44395477058563546822015-03-16T14:03:15.693-07:002015-03-16T14:03:15.693-07:00All sound so good! : ) I happened to make Alice in...All sound so good! : ) I happened to make Alice in January, myself. : )Midorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00635048215440828421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4101338649526821749.post-75143126422679127412015-03-16T09:47:11.188-07:002015-03-16T09:47:11.188-07:00Hello! I do remember you and your wonderful form with faces.

The sculpture you mention is "in my solitude"
The hand was connected to the face with a winding/weaving which I snip through. It is about disconnect, reconnection to the natural world and that strange visceral feeling one gets when deep in quiet thought. Thank you for telling me your experience and your recall of a powerful dream. And thank you for leaving a comment. It is appreciated ;)
Charlene Doiron Reinharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06645689953689581574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4101338649526821749.post-11759753591353395362015-03-15T16:43:07.365-07:002015-03-15T16:43:07.365-07:00I was one of those lucky students. Though I have not done much figurative work myself - one of your pieces especially was so eerily familiar to me. Not because of a similar work I've done, as my work is very different, but because it reminded me so much of a powerful dream I had a very long time ago. I don't know the name of your piece - the bust of a female with the twig sprouting out of her finger.... I like seeing art. And I am a good listener. Better at that than talking ;) Charlene Doiron Reinharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06645689953689581574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4101338649526821749.post-64009710597227182562015-03-03T13:15:08.649-08:002015-03-03T13:15:08.649-08:00I agree with you, Linda.

I didn't always see eye-to-eye with some of my art professors, but they were very respectful of student's work. We had several talks per semester from a wide range of disciplines, from traditional arts to digital graphics. All were thoughtful, honest, encouraging, engaging, curious, conceptual, interactive, connective and more. What a super time to give a talk at school; wish my teacher had brought artists to talk to us when I took ceramics briefly at a junior college. I think an artists perspective is important for students to know, rather than just getting a teacher's perspective on clay, Linda Starrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04364078667554676592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4101338649526821749.post-70086580231092275262015-03-03T08:42:39.476-08:002015-03-03T08:42:39.476-08:00So true! Luckily, I had a successful career in different creative field before I decided to take on a ceramic studio practice full-time. I am very humbled that anyone would want to hear me, the elusive introvert, talk about any art let alone look at slides of my work.

Charlene Doiron Reinharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06645689953689581574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4101338649526821749.post-91234856291677531322015-03-03T06:11:05.140-08:002015-03-03T06:11:05.140-08:00So lovely to see the clay beginnings...
