A Kiss for Earth and Clay
Today's mission: to make slab plates while the kiln cools down.
My pussy willow branches sprouted leaves!
There are roots, too!
There are roots, too!
So I had to celebrate and play around with some simple designs.
Let the beauty of what you love be what you do. There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the earth.

Kiss the earth - love that! And 'yay' for rooting your pussy willow.
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day . . .
The rooting was unexpected. I had only filled the vase with about an inch of water. It only took that little bit of water and some morning sun. Just a bit of care...Happy Earth Day....don't forget to take off your shoes and touch the bare ground...
DeleteI love your design on the dish. Larger design looks lovely, too. Is is the space which makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it is so true, that space can make a difference in a design. It can add balance or vastness or airiness, many different feelings. thank you, Midori....
DeleteI like the idea of a mission each day, there are so many distractions which can get in the way of creative work. Your dish is lovely..it's not easy to keep a design so pure and simple. Hope the firing has been a success too. :)
ReplyDeletePlanning is the key when a studio is as small as mine. Plus a mission keeps me focused and it's fun. Thanks, Mark...the firing was a success...:)
