I'm a little teapot

Keeping busy making teapots.  Little teapots, short and stout like me. These hold only one cup. The bowl of the teapot is the head.  I have a strainer to fit in and I'll make a teacup to go with it.  The teapot below... the water goes into the bottom....with the lid....I am still working out the details on this one with the calla lily as a spout. The third one is in the developmental stage (you know, in my head.)

“When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things. Where is beauty to be found? In great things that, like everything else, are doomed to die, or in small things that aspire to nothing, yet know how to set a jewel of infinity in a single moment?”

    1. Thank you, Mark. I like making teapots, wheel-thrown or hand-built. There are so many design considerations thrown in with functional aspects.

    1. Hello Linda---I've always considered teapots as functional sculptures. No matter their form or beauty they do need to pour with a nice stream!

    1. Thanks, Judy. They are a little quirky, but so absorbing to make. It changes up what I normally do so my brain get a little workout. I end up with a sculpture and a reason to have tea!
