Clay myths and ceramic stories, pt.1

"Crown"

Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.
~Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

Porcellana Digitalus?

"Within" and "Shelter"
Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.

  1. very interesting surfaces and concept on the second photo; I like how the two are talking to each other in the kiln. sometimes I think that which frightens us is something that wants our love, seen it so many times.

    1. they do look like they are having a conversation...the "digitulis" pieces have morphed into larger forms done with colored porcelain...very absorbing process...

  2. So much intrigue in this post - happy this is just Part 1! Love the Rilke quote and Rumi - 'unfold your own myth' - yes to that!
Would love to hear the 'heated' conversation between Within and Shelter as they go through their changes.
And I thought we are all dragon princesses -)

    1. So much has gone on in that part of the garage for the last six weeks! Stories made up, edited and some erased. Myths made and forgotten. And yes, we are all dragon princesses ;)
