    1. We are having soft rains, which we desperately need. It is a gift. More of an adventure to hunt for hidden treasures with bright umbrellas and rain boots. Have a rabbit happy weekend.....

  4. sweet bird, new slip is so much fun, where do you get newsprint?

    1. The newsprint is recycled, 18" x 24". It is non-archival and bought in bulk from a local printmaking supply warehouse. I use it for printmaking proofs, packing, covering the table for glazing. If you need bulk amount try packing/boxes supply places locally.
I bought newsprint 18" x 24" pads with 50 sheets at (Biggie Newsprint) Blick and (Strathmore Green) Michaels with 50% off coupons. The pads are for the visiting budding artists. I think Blick sells it online in sheets, too. Maybe 500 sheets in a box?

  5. I'm catching up on reading your wonderful blog. :) The bird painting is very beautiful and your use of slip is really inspiring. I've been practising brushwork and dipping myself recently, and as with most of ceramics, there are so many little tricks to learn and pitfalls to avoid. I love your partially dipped tea pot too, it creates a wonderful contrast of patterns and colours.

    1. Thank you, Mark. Sometimes the limitations of one's studio space makes one get inventive :)
