Sketches in Clay and Pencil

"Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.” Kurt Vonnegut

  2. Do you sketch most mornings? Love the pensive look of her - and the detail. And Pink Toes is just fabulous - love her boots. The paintings on the back of your work - such a nice surprise . . .
That Vonnegut quote is one of my favorites -- gets me in my studio on those procrastinating days.

  3. Most mornings my routine follows this path---read a poem or passage out of a favorite book---grab my cheap mechanical pencil and do a cryptogram puzzle, Then with the same pencil--quick sketch for about 30 minutes while sipping on my cup of coffee.

  4. What a wonderful, and oh so inspiring quote. Thank you for posting it Charlene.
And, Pink Toes is enchanting. I really like her cowboy boot, though, I do adore her wee blue bird nestled on her right foot :)
